Anna Tasca Lanza

is a cooking school located in the rural heart of Sicily
on the Regaleali wine estate.

The school and accommodations are housed in a 19th-century baglio called Case Vecchie that has been in the Tasca family for over two centuries. The cooking school was founded by Anna Tasca Lanza herself in 1989 and is now run by her daughter Fabrizia Lanza.
Stay on-site in our 19th-century farmhouse and relax into the remote Sicily of once-upon-a-time. From April to December, excluding summer holidays, experience Sicily’s food traditions. We offer hands-on culinary classes and experiences that range from a one-day lunch lesson up to a five-night stay. Overnight experiences allow you to explore the surroundings with our tailored food excursions. Discover our in house workshops focusing on seasonal ingredients and traditional techniques from the farm, such as olive oil, Sicilian bread and tomato paste. Or join us in our guest-led workshops with known-chefs and creative instructors from around the world. Delicious flavours in a stunning setting inspire your senses and pique your culinary curiosity. All our meals and lessons use ingredients grown on the property and wines from the family winery, Tasca D’Almerita.

Classes

Anna Tasca Lanza Cooking School offers immersive, hands-on culinary experiences. Explore all of our culinary stays, from a lunch lesson to a five-night, Becoming Sicilian, adventure. All of our stays include the accommodations, breakfast, lunch and dinner, wine, off-farm excursions to local producers and artisans, and access to our 550-hectare wine estate.

Workshops

Anna Tasca Lanza Cooking school hosts in-house and guest-led creative workshops. All of our workshops are five-nights and include accommodations, all meals and wine, on and off-farm activities, as well as time to explore our expansive estate. In-house workshops are themed around a specific Sicilian ingredient – olive oil, tomatoes, wheat – and are led by Fabrizia Lanza. Our guest-led workshops are hosted in partnership with world-renowned chefs, illustrators, artisans and yoga instructors. These workshops are designed with the guest-leader in mind, focusing on their expertise and blending them with our beautiful surroundings.

Anna Tasca Lanza Cooking School is housed in a 19th-century Sicilian farmhouse that is called Case Vecchie. Our kitchen, library and most of our guest rooms are found here. The cooking school is on the Tasca family’s wine estate, and there are four houses scattered throughout. There are two cottages – Casa Costanza and Casa Rosemarie, as well as two farmhouses – Case Vecchie and Case Grandi. The Tasca d’Almerita winery is housed in Case Grandi. All of these lovely country homes are also family homes, filled with the memories and love of the Tasca family. During workshops, guests will be accommodated either at Case Vecchie or one of the cottages, dependent on the number of guests and their needs. Accommodations at Case Grandi are available upon request.

The whole experience, from the accommodations (food, the beautiful location) to all the people we encountered was top notch. The kitchen crew was awesome in every way! I will definitely recommend to friends. David was great, enjoyed his casual style and expertise.

We stayed at the cooking school for 2 nights of a 17-day tour of Sicily. We had the loveliest conversations with these very interesting and knowledgeable women managing the school and accommodations. The food and wine were exactly what I had hoped for. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! We will be back!!!
