Join us for a journey through Sicily told through its vineyards, its wines, and its people.
For centuries, Sicilian wine was used primarily as vino da taglio. Considered too strong to be drunk on its own, it was used to cut northern wines, adding body and elevating their alcohol content. It was here, at the Regaleali estate, that Sicilian wine was finally championed as a product in its own right, appreciated for its taste, structure, and intensity.
During this workshop, we’ll delve into the history of Sicilian winemaking, both in theory and practice. We’ll begin with the pioneering work of the Tasca winery, contextualizing winemaking in central Sicily, tasting their wines, and visiting their vineyards.
Our journey will then take us to the coast of Agrigento, where a new generation of producers is reinterpreting the island’s winemaking heritage. Working with both traditional methods and innovative approaches, they cultivate vineyards on hills overlooking the Mediterranean and produce natural wines that reflect the character of their land.
Throughout the experience, wine will meet the table through the signature farm-to-table food of the Anna Tasca Lanza kitchen. We’ll learn to cook with wine, pair it with food, and make pantry staples such as the iconic vino cotto. And the cherry on top? Grape harvesting and pressing with the legendary Arcangelo at his own farm.

That was such a great experience and it was so much fun to be with all of you during the week. Please extend my thanks to the entire team who made things so fantastic. I can't wait to get started in my own kitchen!

Everything about the week was worth the effort to get there and the planning was well worth it. It was a week of gourmet eating. The participants were all enthusiastic about being there and that helped make the overall "experience".

My time at Case Vecchie was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The setting is gorgeous, the hospitality amazing, and all of the cooking events were exactly what I had hoped for. I've spent my career in the food business and although I had made a lot of the recipes before I still learned so many things. Emiko is a wonderful teacher-so easy to relate to and a wonderful instructor. I would love to return.

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and thought the standard of the course was exceptional. I have taken other cooking classes in other countries, and this course was by far more authentic, serious, in-depth and has inspired me.

I loved everything, beyond beautiful surroundings, fabulous food, wonderful instruction and opportunity to learn about Sicilian cooking, as well as the knowledgeable and very helpful staff. The flowing wine and other guests, who just happened to be amazing also added to my exceptional experience!
